Ahhhhhhhh Happy 4th of July! We had a great weekend at my Uncle's cabin:) It was the whole extended Smits clan with most of making it there for at least part of the weekend. There was about 20 of us. You are probably wondering what kind of cabin can hold 20+ people... well actually the cabin just sleeps the family of 5, but the loft in the garage sleeps another 6, and 3 tents set and 2 campers add to the Smits Resort for the weekend. For meals, we grill out and enjoy lots of eating all weekend:) We also spent a lot of time boating, jet skiing, enjoying campfires, playing bean bag toss and relaxing on the beach. We had some rain and spent on morning with tables in the garage playing Rook and Phase 10. We especially enjoyed baby Kennedy (almost 3 months) being there:) I spent a lot of time caring for her to give my cousin a break and I loved every minute of it. She is a doll and I love her to pieces. Jon even enjoyed feeding and holding her a while:)
I really enjoy the Fireworks while at the cabin. We take out the pontoon boat and 2 ski boats and all of us can fit safely to go out and sit on the lake and watch the small town fireworks.. You can tell it is a "cabin town" because there is some decent money spent and the fireworks are great! We enjoy anchoring our boats together, listening to music, passing snacks between the boats and then having a great view for the fireworks.
It was also great to get a picture of us together with our "Helping Tanner Kick Cancer T shirts".Our family supports each other and that is certain. Tanner is my 14 year old cousin who was diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Lymphoma this winter. He is doing so well and was riding around on his scooter, boating and having a blast being himself while he was enjoying a break from chemo the past couple weeks. It was such a blessing to see him enjoying summer and feeling so great. God is good!
It was a great 4th of July! So thankful for our great Country we live in.
Now done with most of the summer traveling and time to stay put at home for a while and enjoy what Milwaukee/Racine has to offer the rest of this summer. We are looking forward to the fun coming to us now with a few visitors from out of town coming the next few weeks:)
