Well, the holiday weekend is complete and it was very fun filled at the Friesema home. We had a houseful of guests with Jon's parents visiting, Jon's brother Dan and girlfriend Katie, Jon's brother Andy and wife Ann and a puppy Lily (Dan and katie's dog). It was quite an adventure having a puppy in the house for the weekend but she sure is adorable, see picture above. It was fun to be able to host people for a long weekend and I feel so blessed that we all get along so well. It was a great Thanksgiving. Although I hosted the thanksgiving dinner at our home, I would be lying if I said I cooked the meal, that would be my mother-in-law. I made the homemade chex mix and chocolate chip cookies for snacking. Sure I helped out little but she was the chef for the day and I am very thankful for that. The meal was delicious complete with turkey,stuffing and amazing homemade apple pie.
Now that Thanksgiving is over, Christmas will be here soon. I have about 75% of my Christmas shopping completed most of it being done online this year. I love online shopping with the great deals and free shipping it is just so much less hassle! :) Later this week, a christmas tree will go up and this house will be decorated with the christmas music playing... the season goes too fast! I am looking forward to savoring this holiday season the next few weeks, it is one of my favorite times of year...
