TV Experiment...

So awhile ago, I ranted about my love/hate relationship with the TV and how i hate it always on and that its a time waster...sometime in early fall I posted about it.

Anyways well it has been on my mind again lately. As I am working part time, I haven't turned the TV more than an hour during the day and played music instead or read when not running errands, cleaning, ect. Well tonight Jon had training for work, I went to the gym and normally we would have came home, put the TV and sat there until Jon left for work watching whatever as Wed isn't a big TV night anyways. Well tonight instead we put on the IPOD on the speaker dock for a couple of hours and instead listened to music, a little county, a little christian, a little hip hop. Really a strange assortment all together. BUT while the music played, we sat and talked about all kind of things, like what really has been going on at work for both of us, discussion about church and worship, christmas, our families and more.My hubby is NOT a talker, but i realized that if I just hit the power button and turned that darn TV OFF with some music, we had some great conversation and time for devotions together.
So my pre New Years Resolution is to TURN THAT TV OFF!!! At least an hour a night whether we are home together or if I am home by myself. Because there are better things to do that are more important in life like devotions, praying, talking to Jon or a good friend on the phone or just reading a good book... Just try it.
