A Fresh New Year...

well its 2009... a new year. Its kind of refreshing to have the start of a new calendar year to make new changes, goals for the new year. I must admit I ringed in the new year sleeping in my bed as Jon worked the overnight. Not too exciting but I am old and I think New Years is a dumb holiday. Maybe I will want to do something exciting next new years.
I don't like the term resolutions but I do have some new year goals, and things I am excited about so I thought i would share.

Things I am excited about in 2009:

- 3 TRIPS! Mexico in about a week, Gina's wedding in AZ in June and Bob and Lisa's wedding in Seattle in August 2009. I love traveling so it is so exciting to me that I get to fly 3 times in 7 months and two of these vacations are with my hubby.

- FINISHING SCHOOL.... By August 14, 2009 I will hopefully have my Masters in Social Work and be done with school and homework and Saturday class (5 in 2009). I am soooooo excited.

- MOVING. As much as I hate moving as we are frequent nomads, I am excited about moving to Racine in late summer 2009. We will be moving into my in-laws home as they move to MI. We will have a 5 year semi-permenant living situation at thier home where we can start buying our own nice things for a house and feel setttled for once and not have to worry about moving for 5 years! The bitter sweet thing is that this involves Jon's parents moving 4-5 hours away to MI so that is the bad part, as we truly enjoy Sunday dinners there sometimes and having our family close by. That will be a hard adjustment.

-A NEW JOB. I am praying everyday for a Post MSW job that will be exciting and use my new skills and education and hopefully make more money than before.

-EVENINGS.. Having evenings with jon, something that hasn't happened more than twice a week in 2008. Jon's work schedule changed so we will be able to have a semi normal life of eating dinners and having evening together when I don't have class or homework Its very exciting to me.

My New Years Goals in 2009

1) Be healthy, continue working out 4 x a week, eating healthy and keep losing weight even if it is a slow process
2) graduate school :)
3) be a better steward of my money by giving more to church, saving, stop stupid spending
4) spend more time in devotions and quiet time with God and pray more.

Ok that is it. Since its on my blog it means I have to make everything happen right? Hope God blesses you all greatly in 2009!
