Rhino at the Zoo
Ben and I spent our Saturday morning at the Milwaukee Zoo. My friend Emmy and her sister Brehon and neice Kaylyn were in town for a visit and Kaylyn is a big fan of "Benjamin". We found out it was free day at the zoo and although wek new it may be busy with all types of people, we couldn't pass up a savings of $60 for our car ful of people to go to the zoo. We bundled up, wore hats and ventured out. Ben loved to see the monkeys, fishes, caribou, girraffes and all the animals. It was so fun to see him so excited and hang out with Kaylyn. We then headed to Noodles in Tosa for a late lunch with everyone and headed home.. Ben fell asleep on the ride home and then transferred well right to his crib for a good nap for a couple hours. I got a lot done while Ben napped.
Then at night my sister Kara came to visit. She hung out with us, helped me quickly grocery shop with Ben (HUGE HELP) and we made dinner and then baked together.
It was a great Saturday! There is always so much I could be doing at home but after a long stressful week at work, just playing with Ben and hanging out with friends and family today was exactly what I needed.. exactly what weekends are supposed to be. It was a fun, great Saturday.
Looking forward to church and relaxing Sunday ahead... not even going to think a minute about work until Mon morning:) I have the ability to turn "work mind" off, a necessity for any social worker that wants to avoid burn out.
