DC Trip and other Fall fun

On the white house South Lawn (Garden Tour)

Jon at Lincoln Memorial

Ben being cute at the Pumpkin Farm

We have had a great last month since Ben's birthday. I have had a nice stretch without working Saturdays for a few months so it has been great to have weekends off with Jon this month and get to have normal weekends together. Its a rare treat us police families don't get often.   We have had a lot of fun taking Ben to the pumpkin farm, spending time with relatives and just enjoying fall!

This past weekend, Jon and I went to Washington DC for our 5th anniversary weekend. We left Ben at home with Grandma and Grandpa J. We had a blast seeing all the sights in DC, enjoying sleep and dining out without a screaming child! It was very relaxful and much needed for 3 days away. We got a great deal on flights and hotel too and I forgot how much I just love traveling! I miss my early 20's filled with constant trips.  Ben also had a blast with his grandparents and was at a good age for us to go away.. He was glad when we came home but did so well for them.

Ben is growing so fast... I feel like he has grown a ton the past month.  That little stinker is up to everything!! He is trouble but gosh he is so cute. He is walking, running, climbing and trying to open everything around here and figuring out child proof locks. Really?? He is saying more words ..and recently says Deer and points to the deer heads or deer on the outdoor channel (can you see daddy's a hunter?:)  Its cute. He is eating alright, eating finger foods and loves fruit, mac and cheese, chicken nuggets and waffles. He loves snacks but who doesn't. We are still struggling with veggies as he spits them out. He also loves ranch dressing (but not on veggies, tried that) crazy kid. He is generally sleeping from 8 pm-5 or 6am, has a bottle then sleeps til 8. He is mainly using sippy cups but still bottle before naps and bedtime and think that might take a few months to break him off as he loves his baba:)  He is going to be a monkey for Halloween.
He is really getting into books and just loves music and dancing. He also loves outside and we have a hard time bringing him in after he plays outside for a while.. He is such a joy and we love him so much!

Alright, time to go read a book for a while before crashing for the night.
Looking forward to a low key weekend ahead.
Happy Fall!
