We just got home from a weekend away in MI. It was a great little weekend geataway. It was about a 4 hour drive and we stayed in hotels both nights, which i love. I love staying in hotels and almost always sleep the best, where Jon hates them most of the time:)
Saturday morning my Jeltema relatives threw me a very sweet baby shower, complete with brunch and lots of generous gifts. It was so thoughtful of them and I got a lot of necessities including diapers, wipes, bottles, monitor and a beautiful blue handmade baby afghan by my Aunt Sandy. It so soft. I can't wait to use that in newborn pictures too:)
Saturday afternoon, Jon and I relaxed and took a nap at the hotel and then Saturday early evening we headed out to Windmill Island in Holland for Jon's cousin Rachel's wedding. It was HOT but beautiful with lots of wild flowers and a gorgeous bride, dresses and decorations. It was a little too hot during the ceremony for me in directly sunlight that i actually had to move to the shade during a prayer.. i figured they didnt need the pregnant lady passing out! The reception was held in a big white tent and lots of great food, decorations and conversations with family and relatives.
Sunday we slept in and went to visit Grandma VandenBosch at the nursing home and then to Jon's Aunt's home for a taco lunch before hitting the road. It was delightful weekend and fun to get away. Kind of glad it was my last road trip this pregnancy as the car is not so comfy when you have swollen feet and your back hurt. O well. We made it home safe and sound.
Now its time to start washing baby clothes, finishing the shopping and getting the baby's room organized. I am looking forward to it though:)
