Working weekend and a book that inspired me...

Its Labor Day, and the long weekend is over. I worked most of the weekend(it was my holiday) and I am exhausted from working. Its now 6:20pm and it feels like 10pm to me and I am ready for a weekend.. but no its Tuesday tommorow. 4 more days of work ahead of me until I finally get a long weekend next Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon..

Besides a girls night out Saturday, and enjoying brother-in-law Dan, Katie and dog Lily here on Sunday/Monday.. one of my favorite things about this weekend was a book I read.. all 270 pages of it.
I love to read and once I get in a book, I rarely put it down which is why i read the whole thing this weekend. The book I chose was "Choosing to See" by Mary Beth Chapman, (Christian Singer Steven Curtis Chapman's wife). The book is pretty much her adult biography/testimony from college through marriage, children, adoption, and the sad story of tragically losing thier daughter Maria to a horrible accident. Its such a well written account of God's healing power and testimony of how God has changed thier family through the worst valley you could imagine with many many dark moments but also many days of God's grace and healing. Mary Beth Chapman is so honest and real and so down to earth that it make me wish for the chance to sit down for coffee with her and be challenged spiritually by her testimony. I find books like this to be very moving and encouraging to me in my faith. I love to hear testimony's in church or hear people's stories of how God has been there for his people. I strongly, strongly recommend you pick this book up to read. After reading the book, in the last chapter, I realize that Mary Beth Chapman is going to be a speaker at Women of Faith conference and checked online and she will be in Milwaukee as well! It makes me even more excited for the conference.

I can't wait to pass this book along to my mom, sister, friends and relatives to read. Praying you all feel encouraged in faith and aware of God's goodness tonight!
