Obama's Speech... Really people?

Sorry its another soapbox speech and i know its also on my facebook.... but i felt the need to post here for another audience....

I don't get this drama about the president of the US addressing students about the importance of education.. why is this controversial???

I love how school districts are not showing the speech, or parents are pulling kids out of school because they don't want their kid to be brainwashed? brainwashed from what.. that education is important?? seriously.. he is our president and whether people like him or not he should be respected... i think the importance of education is one thing everyone could agree on...and how great that people in leadership positions in our country think it is important to talk about it and be a role model to take time unite and discuss how important it is to stay in school.i am not democrat, and not republican... but as an independent voter and citizen i cannot believe this...

not everything is about a political party.i am sure there are some fired up people thinking that he is going hypnotize and brainwash students over tv and tell them to stand up fight for universalized healthcare and be proabortionists or something.. i mean really people??

ITS ABOUT EDUCATION not POLITICS! its about education and the importance of it, lets find some common ground and be united about something.Thats my thought...

to what is thought to be a controversial worksheet.. once you read it you will laugh.. all it talks about is asking kids to guess what the president is going to say before the speech and then making educational goals for their future.... is that political???

So I encourage you to support our leader and President as he is taking time to talk to the children of our country about the importance of education and staying in school.. and when someone thinks its so political.. .tell them to check the facts. can't we get along and be united about something people?
