boxes, moving and change in life

This is my home right now, filling up with boxes for our move in 2.5 weeks at the beginning of October. I am very very excited for our move and to live in a house again and be settled for the next 5 years or so. I am looking forward to our newly ordered custom furniture, finding kitchen stuff that has been stored the past year or more, having a garage, having a deck, having a ton more space and a place to have family and friends visit. Although i will sincerely miss my in-laws whose house we are taking over the next 5 years :( It will be wierd not having one of our parents close... lots of visits though!:)

Overall though I hate the packing process. In the past 10 years since high school (wow that makes me feel old), this will be my 10th move!! crazy! I am so done with moving, I can't wait to stay put for a while.

Moving also makes me think about change.. our lives will be changing a lot. I have lived in Milwaukee the past 5 years and I have grown to love this place and get around in any part of the city (good or bad) without a map. I love the malls, restaurants, bike trails and just being close to a big city. We found a church we love and I am close to good friends in Milwaukee. Although we will be only 30 min away, it still will be an adjustment to a new community for me, and returning to a home community for Jon.

In Racine, I am looking forward to being closer to our friends that are there, closer to extended friesema family ,and closer to jon's work. He has been patient commuting the past 2 years of our marriage, i think its my turn to drive now to Milwaukee to work somedays. I am looking forward to getting settled in routine, starting my new job, and finding a new church, grocery store and niche in our home community. Lots of change but we have been waiting for a while for this time to come and I am excited for this new chapter of life and moving to a new home to begin....

now back to those boxes.. ugh!
