I absolutely love Door County, Wisconsin.... The hubby and I went for a little 3 day camping trip at Pennisula State Park. Camping is one thing we love to do together. There is just soo much to around Door County and its beautiful.
I could live up there all summer... if i had my bed at home or a good cabin. The air mattress gets to you after 2 nights. We went there for our honeymoon last Oct but we haven't ever camped there together. On the way up there, we caved for a pit stop at Cabela's and bought a GPS on sale.... I think it is Jon' new toy.
It did come in handy.
Some of my favorite things in door county are the sunsets, the little shops, good restaurants, (Mission Grille and Gilbitrar Grill, Village Cafe.....) wineries, biking, and looking at all the boats. Jon also had to experience "Not Licked Yet" frozen custard.. which was yummy. They had chocolate chip cheesecake as the flavor of the day. I induldged in small cup despite my efforts to stay on track with healthy eating during this trip. We also met up with my brother, Eric and his wife for dinner in Sturgeon Bay. On the way home today we hit up a couple of wineries and got a few bottles of wine and some microbrew beer for Jon.
Its now back to reality.... only a few more days of freedom and then the craziness begins with classes,internship, nannying, and things at church... Plus one more month and the hunting frenzy begins for Jon. I am hoping to just relax this weekend, clean a little and enjoy the down time.

I have always wanted to try Gilbitrar Grill now we will have to! I also am in love with Door County. I still think we need to plan a little gettaway with all of us to rent a cottage up there.. fun stuff.. yes I hear you on the hunting end... Aaron is gearing up already.. He went and got his bow all done up (whatever that entails) and is almost ready for opening day. Too bad he has to work for rifle season this year so he is aiming for most of bow season.. fun stuff! we are going up north for 2 weeks in november..
