18 month update on Ben:)

18 month update

Ben just had his 18 month appointment. He did great!  He is growing a ton, 94% in height, 100% in head size and 85% weight. He grew 3 inches in the past 6 months!  No wonder he is moving into 2T clothes.
He also did well developmentally as well. He has his typical tantrums (screaming, hitting, falling on floor) but is using some utensils, can throw a ball, scribble, and mimics all the time. Ben also runs all day, he no longer walks. Ben also is a big talker. He says over 50 words and has started saying phrases just this week. . Jon asked him where mommy was? and he suprised his daddy by answering "Mommys working".  You can reallly almost carry a conversation and its so fun!  He finds our cell phones and pretends to call the other parent and its hillarious. Ben also loves other kids and enjoys daycare and visiting friend's houses. He adjusts well to new surroundings.  Several strangers have told me that they think he  is 2years old based on his size and how much he talks.

Ben is still a picky eater.. he always has been. He eats fruit, mac and cheese, chicken nuggets,  hot dogs, and pizza... not much else. Sometimes bread and snack stuff.  He will only eat a veggie if its in a mainly fruit flavored puree pouch.  He will throw food off his highchair that he doesn't want and say NONONO.   We have tried forcing and  hiding veggies in things like pasta and he always notices and will eat the noodle and then start to gag and even throw up once he notices the veggie.. he is so dramatic.

Ben loves books still and also loves playing puzzles, trucks, and driving his little car or truck around. He also loves making a mess by throwing all the toys out.  He also loves to watch Elmo and Boz (christian cartoon like Barney). We make him sit on a pillow so he knows to stay there and not go up to the TV.  We try and limit the TV to mornings, one show when he gets up and one short show while I make dinner. Otherwise the TV is off. Ben also loves music and dancing.

Ben loves to be outside so I cannot wait til Spring actually arrives in Wisconsin.  He probably will never want to come in for bed.  I am also so excited for camping with Ben this year. 

I also just had birthday and got a new small camera to fit in my purse as I have been slacking with pictures since i was sick of carrying around our big camera, so more updated pics on the blog to come.

This week Ben has his 2nd flight of his life to MN.. wish me luck. Its only 45 min flight but I am afraid that the aisle will be a temptation for him to run down and he is a strong little guy to fight. Starting to freak out but so excited once we do arrive and get to hang out with relatives, good friends and go to my friend Erin's Bachelorette party.
