Yes we had a 10 hour camping trip, Ben's 1st camping trip.... Ben had a cold before we left for camping...however he developed fever and got a lot worse when camping. He whined the first couple hours we got there (unlike him as he is mostly happy), then he puked (cleared his phlegm, nasty i know!) and was a happy boy so we thought we were doing good... until bedtime. At bedtime, he woke up every 40 minutes, screaming and in pain with his coughing non stop, was really warm also.. nothing worked, even benadryl:) He was miserable.. Of course even on a thurs night were surrounded by other campers who could hear Ben scream I am sure... So at 2:30 am at the risk of Jon and I both pulling our hair out and losing it, we decided to HOME we go.. Thankfully we were only a little over an hour away.. We threw our clothes and Ben's stuff in the car, he feel asleep instantly and I slept while Jon drove. We came home and all slept in til 9 am! On Friday, Jon (dad and husband of the year) drove back and packed up our site on his own. So our first camping trip was an epic fail... BUT next weekend will be better when we try camping again.. first of all Ben will be better, secondly we realized he needs a night light in the pitch black camper and 3rd we are going to have him sleep in the pack n play at home for night since it feels a little different than his crib:) I think when we have a happy Ben, he will like camping:) So i hope! On a postive note, after being home and sleeping a lot for 2 days, Ben is on the upswing and starting to feel better!
