Holidays and Returning to Work...

We had a great Thanksgiving at my brothers home with my parents, sister and everyone there (minus Jon having to stay home to work:( ) See picture above of the little turkey.

Now onto Christmas... Looking forward to getting the tree up this week and house decorated. All christmas presents were bought and wrapped by December 1 and just ordered christmas cards to mail out on Monday. The main tasks completed. I like to do a little baking so we will see if I get time for that. I like getting the Christmas tasks done early so I can just enjoy this season and the true reason for it all. I love the Christmas carols, christmas church services, remembering Christ's birth and cherishing time with family. It will be fun for Ben's 1st Christmas this year even though he won't know the difference... hence no gifts for him this year. Considering I buy that little guy something almost everytime I go shopping, it doesn't mean he isn't spoiled by me or by grandparents and aunts/uncles at cmas time:)

I thought I would share some pictures above of Ben recently.. he is smiling a ton and giggles sometimes:) He had a fun week with Grandma Di babysitting as I went back to work. For the next 4 weeks, Ben gets to stay home with his daddy who is on paternity leave... I am sure Jon has some "field trips" planned with Ben to Cabelas and other manly stores. I love that Jon is able to take time off and bond with Ben. I seriously think we have a great set up even when we are both working. Jon gets days with Ben, I get evenings with Ben an we get 2-3 evenings a week together as a family plus sat/sun mornings and all this being said Ben only requires childcare about 6-8 hours a week at most and a litle daycare is good for him to be around other kids. Otherwise one of us are always with him:) It works for our family. I enjoy being back at work and using my God given talents and passion for social work and then coming home to Ben at night, my other passion of being a "mommy". God is good:)

I will post the 3 month post next week! Can't believe he is almost 3 months!!!

One final thought..I could go for a little snow just to make it seem like December and really get us in the Christmas spirit:)
