A bear, 2 nephews and a firetruck

First about Jon..
Jon came home from bear hunting on his 2nd attempt and got a black bear about 185 lbs. Above are the pictures to prove it. I must say I think Jon looks pretty good in his hunting attire,makes him look manly I guess. The bear is cute in the before picture and its a little sad to see it once killed. Rumor is that in October we will have some bear meat returned to us being processed and in the months to come, a bear rug. Can't say I am too thrilled about either one of those. Supposely bear meat is good and sweet but I am not a big fan of any game meat so I am thinking a Packer party with bear meat served might be coming in the months ahead.






Weekend...
Our weekend was great. We decided last minute to go stay overnight on Friday night in Appleton area since we had our nephew Connor's BD party Saturday afternoon in Green Bay and thought we would split up the driving so we didn't have a total of 5 hours in the car Saturday. We did priceline thurs morning and got a nice hotel with a pool for only $50 in the Appleton area.. It was nice to just get away, relax, go out for dinner, sleep in, out for breakfast, shopping and then a short drive to Connor's Party. We had fun seeing my brother, his wife Erin and our 2 nephews Connor and Aiden for the party.. It was Connor's 2nd birthday and the them of the party was Firetrucks (since his daddy is a firefighter, a real fire truck even showed up:) Connor got lots of toys and it was fun to chase him around.. My other nephew Aiden is now 7 months and its super sweet and cuddly.. He loves to cuddle on your lap and he is very mellow and just precious. I loved getting time to hold him.
It was also fun to spend time with our other family there and see Kara's new ring and talk about wedding planning with them. We then hit the road.
Today Sunday we went to church ( a rare treat to have Jon in morning church with
me) and we are relaxing at home.. Jon starts up with his work schedule again later today and he has enjoyed his 2 weeks off and is now refreshed to head back to work.
Its starting to feel like fall and I love it.. Currently drinking a cup of tea:)
