Starbucks... new sales method

Today I went to the Starbucks inside Barnes and Noble to study.. here is how my ordering went

Employee: Can I take your order?
Me: Yes. I would like a grande Skim Mocha with no whip
Employee (enthusiastically): Would you like to get a Venti Mocha (XL mocha) for only 30 cent more.
Me: No
Employee: would you like add a flavor to that ?
Me: No.
Employee: Would you like to add a cookie, brownie or piece of cheesecake with that?
Me: No. (very annoyed at this point)

SO Starbucks must be hurting to try and keep stores open by upselling. They try and get you to upgrade on everything. Seriously do they think I don't know what I want when I ordered my drink in the first place? Obviously, i see the bakery and chose not to order anything from there too. i am a frequent customer. How frustrating. I especially felt bad for the 12 year old girl behind me who just wanted a hot chocolate and the clerk asked her the same 45 questions confusing her.
I am surprised they don't try selling to go mugs at every sale too. seriously. Its a little ridiculous.

On a postive note.. my mocha was delicious... i think if money and calories were nonexistent, i would have one every single day... but since that isn't true, i limit myself to one a week at the most.

I am loving my weekend with nothing going on and not doing anything with anyone (besides hanging out with Jon when he isn't working or sleeping all day).. so relaxing. I am so an introvert and proud of it. I don't need a weekend full of social activities to feel cool... Plus someday in the future, when we have kids running around and a house to take care of, I will envy these carefree days...

I Love the blog entry. I would and have ordered a turtle mocha everyday... well every other day. SO SO SOOOOO day for me. I am kind of getting sick of them [don't say it's true] but just when I go for 3 days without one I'm over it and could go for another. I think I need to join a AA for mocha adicts. HELP!

Seriously. I love them, we have a problem:). If you ever come visit Milwaukee, which you should with Sara sometime.. you will have to go to Alterra coffee for a mocha. They are soo good!
