Update on my Uncle Dale..
He had surgery today to remove the swelling in his brain. They actually removed part of his skull so the swelling could go down. The surgery went well and had a postive outcome. Everyone is thankful for this small victory. Tommorow they expect him to wake up and they hopefully will be able to tell the extent of his abilities and make a plan for rehabilitation. He is still in the ICU. Continue to pray for God's complete healing and recovery! We still believe in complete miracles.
Reflection...
As I have prayed and prayed unceasingly and spent time reading the bible and worshipping this past weekend, it has really reminded me of the important things in life. So often we get distracted but hard realities of those suffering around us, we n realize we need to open our eyes to stay focused on Christ, family and the important things in life. Cherish your families, friends and be reminded of your Creator and his supreme role in your life whether you want to believe it or not, he loves you very much and is there for you.
I am so thankful for my own good health and for the Christian faith of my extended family to help make it through this difficult time while waiting for my uncle to recover. I do not know how those without faith in God make it through trying times. He is our strength. I am also very thankful for my supportive friends and my husband. Life is too short not to focus on the important things in life. When I think about the challenges that my Uncle and family are going through in this time, it makes my everyday worries seem like nothing. For example tommorow, I have to go and get 2 fillings at the dentist in the morning. I hate the dentist and don't want to go but in reality, how little discomfort is an hour at the dentist compared to what lots of other people including my uncle are going through as he recovers right now for days and months ahead.
I have found this verse very encouraging in this time,
"In this you will greatly rejoice though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire- may be proved geniune and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed " 1 Peter 1:6-7
I look forward to Christ being revealed through my Uncle's recovery and testimony. Thank you for your prayers and keep praying! Check out his caring bridge site below if you haven't yet.
